Sarah's Interest in piercing began at an early age, from a fairly unlikely place, National Geographic. She saw and was interested in the tribal culture, what they pierced, why they pierced, and the rituals that surrounded them. Her interest grew as information on modern piercing became more accessible. At age eighteen, Sarah started getting pierced, and within that first year she adorned herself with six piercings and two tattoos. 

Sarah started piercing in late 2000, and worked at a couple of studios before coming to Bodystain in November 2002. She believes firmly in continuing education, and makes an annual pilgrimage to "Sin City", Las Vegas for the APP (Association of Professional Piercers) convention. There she attends classes like anatomy, jewelry standards, chemistry 101/ aftercare, and a course on techniques.
